However, through Turner's purchase of part of MGM's library, they now own it. They didn't make the original special, that was MGM. Now, WB has a complicated history with Mr. Further incarnations of him include a live-action movie in which he's played by Jim Carrey and an animated theatrical film in which Benedict Cumberbatch plays the green grouch. He originated as a children's book but became famous through an animated special by the legendary Chuck Jones. Seuss character that tries to steal Christmas before learning what it's truly all about.
